Note: TV4US is up to their usual tricks, now in Wisconsin. Such dishonest campaigning on behalf of corporations (AT&T or anyone for that matter) should be made illegal. Unfortunately, a Bill doing as such was voted down by Republicans in Congress earlier this session.

Some Madison residents who told an advocacy group they supported competition for cable television providers said they're angry the group implied to state lawmakers that they endorsed specific legislation affecting cable TV.

Astroturf Alert! Freedom Works is a sleezy front for free market conservative politics and is on the telco payroll. They cite cable increses that everyone knows were the result of Congressional deregulation in the 96 Telecom Act (passed by a Republican Congress). Now they want even greater deregulation. The two year old state franchise in Texas has already resulted in higher cable rates.

A couple of lawmakers were surprised to find their names on a list of Wisconsin residents supportive of a video franchise bill when, in fact, both oppose the legislation.
